ON MENDELSSOHN'S THE HOMECOMING, RYEDALE FESTIVAL OPERA, JULY / AUG 2010

"...Rebecca Hodgetts [was] captivating as her foster-child Lisbeth and quietly scene-stealing in her silent role in the Britten."
Anna Picard (THE INDEPENDENT 15/8/10)

"Rebecca Hodgetts made a pleasingly pert, lyrically toned Lisbeth ... "

"Rebecca Hodgetts (Lisbeth) sings and acts with great skill and assuredness. In the opening she sings a wonderful duet with Kathy Taylor-Jones (Frau Schulz) where the two voices are perfectly matched. "
John Bird (REMOTEGOAT 10/8/10 - *****)

ON LERNER AND LOEWE'S MY FAIR LADY, SURREY OPERA, FEBRUARY 2010

"Surrey Opera's production was scintillating as much for the excellent orchestra as for the principals and cast. Eliza (Rebecca Hodgetts) was supreme as the cockney flower girl metamorphosing into the fair lady she was to become with beautiful diction and precise accent ... I had never
quite before managed to capture all of those speedy syllables that Eliza has to spit out at Higgins in the final scene. She was amazing..."
Gordon Bull (WORDS AND MUSIC 12/2/10)

"Rebecca Hodgetts delivered a commanding portrayal of the wilful Eliza — her transformation from flower vendor to fair lady showed the versatility that she has acquired as a young professional."
Simon Ames (SURREY MIRROR 23/2/10)

ON PUCCINI'S LA BOHEME, KENTISH OPERA, MAY 2009

"The bustling crowd scene complete with yapping dog ... provided a colourful precursor to Marcello (Peter Grevatt's) and Musetta's (Rebecca Hodgetts's) bust up in Act III.  The tempestuous pair gave an unnervingly close-to-the-bone impression of one of those couples who keep you guessing, until the final venomous exchange ... Grevatt's elegantly supported tone was well-matched against the sultry Hodgetts.  She made a feisty Musetta and a balancing force to Ge Yu's Mimi."

Hannah Nepil (OPERA NOW Nov/Dec 09)

"Musetta (Marcello's ex girlfriend - Rebecca Hodgetts) was excellently cast as a fickle and flirtatious young woman out for all she could get. Her waltz song 'Quando m'en vo' (As through the streets I wander) not only brought out her lovely soprano voice but also brought back her lover Marcello!"
Pippa Hare (MUSIC & VISION 11/06/09)

ON HUMPERDINCK'S HÄNSEL UND GRETEL, DIVA OPERA EUROPEAN TOUR, 2008

"... credit must be given to both Kala Maxym (Hänsel) and Rebecca Hodgetts (Gretel) — with her energetic and full soprano sound — who interacted well and gave convincing performances throughout ... The cast worked very well together, producing moments of magic and sustaining a rich, impressive sound quality."
Hannah Beynon (OPERA NOW Nov/Dec 2008)

"Rebecca Hodgetts, alias Gretel, est littéralement l'artisan du succès de cette soirée. Tour à tour radieuse, emportée, lyrique, sombre, sa voix ... épouse parfaitement l'aspect à las fois sympathique

et dramatique de l'œuvre initiale."

(Rebecca Hodgetts, alias Gretel, is literally the architect of this evening's success. In turn radiant, carried away, lyric, dark, her voice ... married perfectly with the emotional and dramatic aspects of the work)
Stéphanie Demondrille (LA MONTAGNE 11/08/2008)

ON MOZART'S NOZZE DI FIGARO, DIVA OPERA EUROPEAN TOUR, 2008

"Il ne faudra pas non plus oublier la charmante Barbarina de Rebecca Hodgetts,
qui chante très bien, et est une actrice pleine de vie....."

(One should also not forget the charming Barbarina of Rebecca Hodgetts who sings very well
and is an actress who is full of life..)

     ON HANDEL'S L'ALLEGRO, SPITALFIELDS FESTIVAL, JUNE 2006

"... soprano Rebecca Hodgetts seized her opportunity with some superbly eloquent singing."

Barry Millington (EVENING STANDARD)

"... beautifully schooled elegance..."
Andrew Clements (THE GUARDIAN)

"The penseroso soprano, Rebecca Hodgetts, was full and suitably artful of voice,
and particularly lovely in the duet with the flute in Sweet bird."

Helen Elsom (CONCERTO NET)
